Why are some of your 12 oz. coffee packages so hard to open? |
|
|
About eight months ago, we changed our packaging to accommodate for problems we were having with the sealer on our machine. The change in packaging gave us a stronger seal, but made it difficult (and nearly impossible!) for packages to be opened by hand.
Through our work with the manufacturer of the packaging, we now have an improved system to ensure that the packages are sealed properly to lock in the freshness of the coffee but are still easy to open. The new "E-Z Peel" packaging should be reaching stores very soon!
In the meantime, here's how to get your tough 12 oz. coffee packages open:
- Remove the tin tie (the white strip on the package).
- Use scissors or a knife to carefully cut a line near the top of the package.
- Pour or spoon the coffee from the package.
- Replace the tin tie and fold until the hole is covered.
